Today is for Living

There is so much bad stuff happening in this world and so much sad stuff.

Today a beautiful, strong woman I know lost her husband to cancer, leaving her and her three little girls heartbroken.

Yet we still sweat the small insignificant shit. We still get all upset by tiny meaningless rubbish. We stress about things that truly don’t matter in the long run.

We ignore amazing, beautiful, fun parts of our lives and worlds because we are too busy. Too angry. Too worried. Too something. What a waste.

I’m not saying don’t have concerns or plans or whatever. I’m realistic. I’m still going to budget and worry for Ella’s future and get pissed off at things.

But stop n smell the roses. Take the holiday. Wear your good dress. Eat the cake. Respect your body. Love your family and friends fiercely. Buy the convertible. Ignore pettiness. Forgive ignorance. Laugh. Dance. Live.

Focus on all you have and realise how much that is. Move on from what you don’t have and keep perspective as to whether those things truly matter.

Live for today and look forward to tomorrow. If we all cared a little less about the insignificant crap that goes on and instead focused on enjoying and propagating what is good and beautiful in this life, I’m sure the world would be a better place.

Try it. What have you got to lose?
